Macon is a Knight city and the Knight Foundation announced $14M in city projects — of which $5M is for Macon news expansion.

The news project involves Mercer U., and its Macon Newsroom program. It partners in the National Trust for Local News and the Courier Herald Publishing Group.
The National Trust has Georgia interests beyond this project under the name Georgia Trust for Local News, and those details are still to come.
