[travel thoughts] A lot to love about Sydney

The view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from Jeffrey Street Wharf was, as my niece said, the best view. We went there after a long day at Blue Mountains and it was a long hike after taking the Circular Quay ferry. We passed by Luna Park, bought pizza and drinks to go, and settled on a bench at what looked like a secret viewing spot not all tourists are blessed to know about. I have the view, the pizza, the company of and the conversation with my niece very high on my best memories of that trip.

 

I never like walking in Manila: there are always too many people and the heat + humidity is the perfect combo to trigger a seizure. But in cities abroad, I always look forward to walking tours — alone or with company. That December in Australia was sweltering, but there was something about walking about a city, aimless and leisurely, that made it enjoyable
