The Miami Heat paid Duncan Robinson in the offseason, and I mean PAID him.
Five years and $90 million to be exact.
While Robinson played well in the regular season — 10.9 PPG, 2.6 RPG, and 1.6 APG while shooting 37.2% from deep — he has practically disappeared in the playoffs, averaging 11 minutes a night while putting up 5.7 PPG and shooting 52% from deep on low volume.
So, why exactly has Robinson’s production dropped? It can be traced to several factors: his defense, Spoelstra’s decision making, and the focus of this article, Max Strus.
