My apologies. Unfortunately, there was a glitch in Circana’s system. May’s list never got sent out, so we’ll continue geeking out over June’s list.
It looks like games with Roman numerals in their names filled the top two spots, but these games were highly revered and anticipated, so it comes as no surprise. Diablo IV and Final Fantasy XVI were the top winners here.
The fighting game, Street Fighter 6, followed at number three, bumping Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to number four.
Some information about last month’s rankings is indicated in the second column. Zelda and Hogwarts Legacy were in the top two spots in May, but what’s really interesting is the upward trajectory of PlayStation’s Spider-Man games.
The games shot up from the bottom of the list to the ninth and tenth spots.
Clearly, this is because of the sequel launching this October.
