Do you think it odd that people who have never made a waffle from scratch in their lives will make a waffle when they’re staying at a hotel?
I love to imagine how this came about. Some earnest, hopeful waffle lover got an appointment with the Big Hotel People and sold the hell out of this idea.
“This waffle maker is a must for your guests! Even though they can barely be arsed to pop a frozen waffle into a toaster at home, I think if they’re on vacation or taking a business trip they are definitely going to be into making their own waffle for breakfast.”
And the thing was, this waffle visionary was right! Haven’t we all made a hotel waffle?
I have two waffle irons in my house.
One makes your basic waffles and the other I use to make stroopwafels, a yummy round Dutch treat you place over your cup of coffee.
