Is the Road Less Traveled a Foot Closer to Your Destiny?
<p>F<strong>or a split second, I thought about turning around</strong>. If not for a gentle whisper encouraging me to continue the designated path, I may have. Not unlike the way I’ve navigated my life, or the way spirit has navigated me.</p>
<p>Siri has sent me on a few wild routes, but this differed from any other. As soon as I exited the freeway, I had to cross three wide lanes to make a left turn onto a street I’d never heard of into the woods. Traffic stood eerily still between both streetlights, stalling cars in each direction.</p>
<p>Did she hit a glitch?</p>
<p>My commute last Friday morning reminded me of a cool, crisp ride through the forest of the fabled Little Red Riding Hood. I imagined Red with her picnic basket skipping across the two-lane winding road — her stealthy captor following behind with a sly grin plastered beneath thin white whiskers.</p>
<p>Suspicious Siri’s directions meant for me only when I realized there wasn’t another soul on this long curvy stretch for at least 10 miles of a steady upward climb into the Los Gatos hills — I scanned left and right. My quaint destination downtown seemed far off.</p>
<p>Yet my spirit remained open to a little adventure. I had been floating in a sea of sameness during the week. Wake, meditate, stretch, go to work, come back home, eat, write, read, sleep. Repeat.</p>
