Breakfast Time for the Woodchuck
<p>I have published several stories on a “Birds of the Brush Pile” theme. But this year, birds have been absent from the pile of brush in Essex Park, a bird hotspot near home. However, a breakfast-munching wood chuck and several birds surprised me on a recent morning visit to the spot.</p>
<p>The film “Groundhog Day,” Pennsylvania’s <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punxsutawney_Phil" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Punxsutawney Phil</a>, and the tongue-twister above have popularized the humble woodchuck, commonly known as a groundhog.</p>
