<p>As you walk around the city you start to realise that there are very few overweight people. Everyone seems healthy and happy and beautiful.</p>
<p>Then you also start to realise that there aren’t many fast-food outlets. And that people are riding bikes everywhere. I wonder if there’s any correlation…?</p>

<p>Hygge is a Danish word that’s defined as ‘…<em>a quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being</em> (regarded as a defining characteristic of Danish culture).’</p>
<p>As well as being beautiful on the outside, Danish people seem to exude an inner peace and light. You can see it on their faces as they walk or cycle by; their faces look tranquil, content, at peace, full of self-confidence.</p>
