Why I m Busy is the New I m Fine— And What s Wrong With That

Remember when bumping into an acquaintance meant the almost robotic exchange of “How are you?” followed by the equally predictable “I’m fine”?

Well, times have changed, my friends. Now, it’s not uncommon to hear, or perhaps proudly declare, “I’ve been so, so busy!”

And let’s not forget the 45 minutes you spent debating between spaghetti or stir-fry for dinner. Critical decisions, people!

We’ve all had those days dominated by distractions. Days when our to-do lists laugh at our hopeful attempts to make progress and our brains are saturated not with accomplishments but with the numbing hum of unending tasks.
