Please Do Not “Whitesplain” My Feelings to Me

Like many folks, I was watching the coverage of Cheetos’ latest indictment. I chose MSNBC. I watch them a lot. I generally like the way they cover these important events. However, I felt the vibe was off the other night.

Someone posted that they felt like the commentators were dismissive of D.A. Willis’ abilities. I nor the original post ever said ANYTHING about it being racist. We (as in there were other black women) who expressed the same feelings. Well, this set off the “Karens and the Kens” big time.

“You’re wrong… Nobody was being negative… YOU ARE MISTAKEN! THAT’S NOT WHAT YOU FELT!” HOW IN THE ENTIRE F**K DO YOU THINK YOU CAN INVALIDATE MY FEELINGS?!!? Does your white privilege extend to my brain, my hearing, my eyesight?
