What Freedom Means

I love freedom, and I believe you also love, don’t you? But when I talk about freedom, I mean responsibility. Now, you might be a little surprised. It’s okay; I’ll try to explain it in my way. We are often told that freedom means being carefree and that freedom means having no responsibilities. However, this is a myth. Freedom without responsibility doesn’t make you free; it makes you careless.

“Freedom and love go together. Love is not a reaction. If I love you because you love me, that is mere trade, a thing to be bought in the market; it is not love. To love is not to ask anything in return, not even to feel that you are giving something- and it is only such love that can know freedom.”

Jiddu Krishnamurti

The fear of big responsibilities is the best kind of fear.

So, am I trying to provide you with a new perspective? Well, from my point of view, it’s not a new perspective. I’m just trying to express it in my style. Great individuals have lived freedom in the true sense. We need to understand this delicate aspect deeply.

We all have carelessness and ignorance within us, and I am not exempt from it. Learning from carelessness and ignorance challenges us. Mistakes made in ignorance make us wiser. It fosters empathy.
