Seven Well-Loved Carols That Make Us Spout Nonsense at Christmas
<p>Have you been to a Christmas Carol Service (yet?) this year?</p>
<p>Confounding the predictions that we are becoming increasingly irreligious — people in the town where I live were streaming into churches this past weekend. Candles were lit — lots of them — choirs rehearsed, and traditional carols were sung.</p>
<p>We went to the Carol Service in our local church, and once again, I was struck by some obscure, obtuse, and plain wrong ideas expressed in some popular Christmas carols.</p>
<p>So, in the spirit of Christmas cheer, I offer seven examples (and a bonus) of Christmas carols that spout nonsense.</p>
