The Spectacle of the Wagah Border Parade
<p>I traveled to Amritsar with a group of 14 seniors. Everyone wanted to see the Wagah Border Parade. It was of <a href="https://testbook.com/ias-preparation/wagah-border" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">cultural and historical </a>significance and it has been continuing for years.</p>
<p>Let me narrate our experience when we went to watch the parade. I had seen it earlier but now it is more sophisticated and upgraded to greater levels,</p>
<p>The gates that you see in the picture above, are the India and Pakistan gates. These gates are opened every evening when “Beating the Retreat” takes place. The flags are furled and then closed.</p>
