Pro Tips on Visiting Japan that Others Don’t Mention
<p>As of writing this, it seems like it’s difficult to purchase a Suica card, but that’s OK because the Pasmo card is still available (and it’s pretty much the same thing without the cute penguin). We recommend getting a Pasmo card as soon as you leave the airport. You’ll need one if you’re taking the train to your hotel.</p>
<p><strong>Pro tip: </strong>If you arrive at Haneda Airport, the Pasmo machines by the train station <strong>only take cash</strong>. But you can get cash at the ATM that’s nearby. We opted for that than using the currency exchange service at the airport because it’s much easier, and the exchange rates are probably better via an ATM. The ATM we used was across from the info desks.</p>
