Vikings Teaches Rape Culture
<p>I’ve just begun watching the just-past-its-expiration-date series <em>Vikings</em>, and I’m loving it. I knew I would, since I am a history buff and have gorged previously on shows like <em>The Last Kingdom</em>, <em>Versailles</em>, and just about any other ‘some dude conquers some kingdom’ show you can name. That being the case, I am eating up the delicious scenery, semi-historically-accurate recreation of Viking lifestyles, and the mostly quite stylish acting.</p>
<p>However, there is one aspect of the show I do not appreciate, something that features too strongly in many shows like this one: the cool girl.</p>
