There He Was
<p>Yesterday we headed to The Shed for an afternoon viewing of <a href="https://variety.com/2023/legit/reviews/here-we-are-review-stephen-sondheim-final-musical-1235764499/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank"><em>Here We Are</em></a>, the last musical with music & lyrics by the master himself, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Sondheim" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Stephen Sondheim</a>. Although started years ago, many years before his death, it only recently hit the stage. We were curious to see how this would expand from things written by him mid-career like <em>Into the Woods.</em></p>
<p>Turns out, despite being based on two Luis Buñuel movies (read more about that in the link to <em>Here We Are</em> above) it still reads like <em>Into the Woods</em> to me. (and sounds a bit like it, too, at least the first act)</p>
