Use Google Bard as Your Own Personal Recommender

Many websites will offer their recommendation engines but they don’t always deliver what you would expect. I.e. after listening to particular songs on Spotify it will continue playing “similar” songs. But in my experience, they are never the ones I want to listen to. In other cases you may want something custom which the recommendation engine doesn’t provide. Perhaps I would like to combine several selections or I wish to filter results based on particular criteria.

In 2023, large language models (LLMs) became a thing. As I’m getting used to OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Bard I noticed from different examples that they are very good at providing personalized results. In this blog post, I chose to use Bard over ChatGPT mainly because:

the free version of ChatGPT is limited to information up to year 2021

Bard can provide pictures with links.

To use Bard all you need to is to visit this link and login with your Google account. Now we’re good to dive into several different areas and analyze recommendations.
