<p>Amsterdam is quite possibly one of the greatest walking cities the world over. The first international city in the series, it is a must visit if your travels take you to Western Europe. The city is full of history, an array of cultures and certainly one of the most beautiful cities one could elect to visit.</p>
<p>Amsterdam is a floating city. The central, or old city center is the heartbeat of the greater northern Dutch town. An urban center designed for all modes of transport before autos. Yes, there are passenger cars navigating the streets however, the best way to transit the city is by bicycle, trolley, boat, or foot.</p>
<p>The city is abundant with two wheelers. If your preference is cycling around the city, it will allow your group or solo travelers an opportunity to cover more ground than by foot, however when visiting the city, a first time, getting to know the surroundings is best on foot.</p>
<p>The canal system is a central feature of the city. It is easy to get turned around or lost. Whatever path selected; the canals radiate in a series of rainbow arcs in the city center. A small pocket map or access to the internet on your smartphone is advised.</p>
