Undercover artists; We’re not what you think we are

People don’t like people who are different from them. Many social conflicts, such as racism, discrimination against minorities, and religious tensions, originate from this idea of difference. This discomfort is quite intuitive regarding differences in appearance. In a world where no two people are alike, even twins, it is natural for people to look different from what we think they should look like. The look of human beings had significant changes throughout history, and it will continue to evolve. So, who defines humans should look like this?

The standard of beauty, the boundary between the inner and outer worlds, the difference between who I think I am and who others think I am — have been long standing subjects of deep thought. Some artists have tackled these uncomfortable questions in various forms of media. Am I the only one who finds the distorted and strange human form more relatable and human?

The Noise, 2007 — “In some of my works I really tired to bring out that dark side, that we can face and deal with.” he says, “I thought it’d be a big illness if you kept hiding your darkness.” he says.

Xooang uses hyperrealistic techniques to craft surreal human figures of remarkable detail. He shows the inner emotions with the outer appearance and the feelings felt in the dream with the facial expressions so that they are somehow familiar yet alien effects. Unexpectedly alluring as the artworks reveal previously unseen, invisible ideas, captivating us constantly.
