<p>Statistics on democracy and human rights in Europe, Caucasus, Middle East, Latin America, and Central Africa have highlighted major challenges and issues for many years. Despite various efforts by nations and organizations to address these issues, data and news indicate that these efforts have been insufficient. Regrettably, these issues continue to worsen worldwide, resulting in a significant increase in the number of international migrants. According to the IOM UN Migration, approximately 281 million people were international migrants in 2020, accounting for 3.6% of the global population.</p> <p>Understanding the severity of the refugee situation requires a clear definition of what is a refugee. According to the UNHCR, a refugee is someone who has been forced to flee their country because of persecution, war, or violence. Unfortunately, domestic violence, human rights violations, and inequality, particularly against women, are on the rise in refugee-hosting areas.
