Killed for Being Different

<p>OnJune 10th, 1692, 60 year-old twice-widowed, mother of four, Bridget Bishop, was hung by the neck until dead in front of her neighbors, patrons, friends and family. She&rsquo;d been given eight days to prove she was innocent from accusations of witchcraft, conspiring with the Devil, and hurting other townsfolk by visiting them in spectral form and performing mischievous violations against them.</p> <p>This wasn&rsquo;t the first time she&rsquo;d been accused of witchcraft. She&rsquo;d been exonerated more than a decade earlier from the same indication. Yet, in Salem in 1692, there were evil powers at play that had nothing to do with the dark arts.
