Of Course, The 1993 Super Mario Bros. Movie is Getting a Special 4K “Trust the Fungus” Edition — And It’s Available For Pre-Order

Oh, 1993 Super Mario Bros. Movie. What would we be without you?

When this disaster of a movie arrived in 1993, it bombed horrifically, to the point that Nintendo wasn’t sure where to move forward with future adaptations until, what, three decades later? That said, it’s become a cult classic, with people eating up the performances of Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo and Dennis Hopper like it was linguini.

The movie remains a cult classic today. And yes, I indulge in that, as I bought an import Blu-Ray with the “director’s cut” intact. But now there’s an even bigger edition coming from Umbrella Home Entertainment next year.

The company has begun taking pre-orders on what they call a “Trust the Fungus” Collector’s Edition, going for $100 U.S. Just take a gander at what’s in the package.
