<p>In a nutshell, it’s a story about a lad being too eager to do his job right. I mean, nothing’s wrong with doing you job right, job well done, no matter what job, pleases the Lord, or so the saying goes at least. Then again, as they said in ‘<em>The Wire</em>’ (I think it was the old Jimmy McNulty): As beat cops, we have the greatest power in the US — we can approach, we can challenge, or we can look the other way. How do you know when to do what though? — you learn it from experience.</p>
