It’s OK to do nothing when you travel

I’ve been travelling for most of my life in one form or another. Family holidays as a child, then periods working abroad as a teenager and university student, then trying to maximise my annual paid time off once I was an adult with responsibilities and a “regular” 9–5 job.

In my twenties, it was a struggle to save up the money to travel, so when I did get to go somewhere, I was determined to make the most of it. I would book trips several months ahead and then spend hours poring over guidebooks and tourism websites, drafting elaborate itineraries and emailing people about tours and restaurant reservations. I wanted to squeeze every drop of value out of every trip.

Website
