Why one of Toronto’s wealthiest neighborhoods is named after a vegetable

<p>Asan American who has now lived in Toronto for a year, I can say that anything remotely strange in Canada no longer shocks me. So, when my friend asked, &ldquo;Want to walk around Cabbagetown with me?&rdquo; I just nodded my head and smiled with no idea whatsoever what I was getting myself into.</p> <p>My initial thought was my memory of the&nbsp;<em>Cabbage Merchant</em>&nbsp;from the kid&#39;s animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender.
