For creators, the launch of TikTok’s new e-commerce product is a welcome addition to the popular social platform’s features. TikTok Shop is the newest commercial feature which is now available for its 150 million users in the U.S.
The new features include, live video shopping, shop ads, affiliate features and a shop tab available for users to purchase items.
For TikTokers like myself, this is wonderful news. This means that creators can earn more money and build solid income streams from the content they create.
In a recent blog post, TikTok said:
“TikTok Shop empowers brands and creators to connect with highly engaged customers based on their interests, and it combines the power of community, creativity, and commerce to deliver a seamless shopping experience.”
TikTok Shop is a powerful way for creators to build additional income streams, and with the features officially rolled out, creators can connect to products in their videos; and companies build product lists for users to purchase items.
TikTok shop also allows creators to join affiliate programs to promote products and earn commission.
This is also great news for brands who want to sell and promote their products on the platform. TikTok also provide a seamless fulfillment service which allows brands to sell their products without dealing with logistical issues such as packing and fulfillment.
