Cinemas as the ‘Third Place’

<p>In his 1989 book, sociologist Ray Oldenburg coined the term the&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_place" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">&lsquo;Third Place&rsquo;</a>&nbsp;as the one outside home (your first place) and work/school (your second place) where people get through there day, but one that also becomes an opportunity to foster community and civility.</p> <p>Starbucks founder Howard Schultz popularised the concept stating repeatedly that the coffee chain &ldquo;from the beginning [&hellip;] set out to provide just such an invaluable opportunity.&rdquo; as stated in his 2007 memoir&nbsp;Onward.</p> <p><a href="https://andrewrozara.medium.com/cinemas-as-the-third-place-db7665c2b47f"><strong>Website</strong></a></p>
