The Journey to the Summit
<p>First and foremost, please do not follow in my footsteps. As some of you may know, I recently recovered from a gout attack and a fractured ankle. I was essentially in a cast for 1–2 months and only recently got out of it with little to no exercise, but I had this climb planned a long time ago and I did not want to waste this opportunity.</p>
<p>I embarked on this adventure with my friends, we chose the 2D1N package and were underprepared for the cold and rough terrain. People usually train for months to prepare for altitude sickness and the awful terrain, but my buddies did not train or prepare because they were prepared to follow my pace because to my injury. Climbing Mount Kinabalu was easily the most physically demanding thing any of us had ever done.</p>
