SAHIL, the Saviour of the Sentient
<p>Environmentalist and AGAPP friend Sahil Sharma sends AGAPP rays of hope. I met this youth leader in Feb 2022 when he arrived on a bus from Rajpura to come to Chandigarh to join AGAAP’s protest at the Punjab Local bodies Ministry. No one from Chandigarh area showed up. Three AGAPPERs’ from Jalandhar drove with a letter to the Secretary , Local Govt demanding SUP ( Single Use Plastic )banned on the ground per the 2016 law. A year later on Feb 23, 2023 ,Sahil drove his e scooter from Rajpura to Mohali to join our protest against SUP ’s eco-destruction at the Invest Punjab summit when we were briefly detained by the police. Sahil runs NGO “Salute the Trees” and I am writing an op-ed regarding his work to save these sentient beings . Sahil wanted to go for a degree in wildlife biology but his family did not support his ambition. Just a couple of weeks ago, Sahil saved three snakes from snake charmers. </p>
