Hong Kong: Global City of the Racists?
<p>Having studied in Hong Kong for my undergraduate degree, I was privileged to interact with the educated and open-minded student population in Hong Kong. However, upon looking to move out of my university, I had first-hand experience with the <a href="https://tyr-jour.hkbu.edu.hk/2022/03/11/renters-face-racial-discrimination-in-asias-world-city/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">racist attitudes of HK landlords towards potential tenants who are ethnic minorities</a>. Once they ask about my nationality, they ping me with the impending question of “do you like to cook curry”, whilst I am typing “no, I don’t plan on cooking curry” just at the tip of my fingers.</p>
<p>This one particular landlord had a very interesting bio (of course I couldn’t help but be curious as to what kind of things this racist person puts out there to represent herself). </p>
