Q&A: Getting to know Jacobo Muñoz, Villarreal Sydney Academy Director

I’ve been breathing soccer my whole life. I grew up thinking about soccer 24 hours a day and I still do. After having a knee injury and stopping soccer at a high level I decided to study Sports Science and started my coaching experience at a local youth academy in Valencia.

I like the idea of teaching the kids to think for themselves, to be selfish and at the same time being a good teammate. I try to teach the kids the simplicity of soccer: control, pass and move and the importance of tempo and decision making.
