CAN EMPLOYERS REFUSE TO HIRE HAMAS SUPPPORTERS?

<h2>Under American law, it is entirely lawful for a purely private business to discriminate in employment based on political or other thought that conflicts with the business&rsquo;s views.</h2> <p>No one can refuse to hire because of an applicant&rsquo;s race, religion, or ethnicity or nationality. That&rsquo;s the Civil Rights Law (and for religion, the First Amendment.) Our laws say that a business can refuse to service LBGTQ+ people if it conflicts with their &ldquo;religious&rdquo; views. Medical professionals can be excused from performing pregnancy terminations for the same reasons. Religious schools do not have to hire staff who are LBGTQ+, living together outside of marriage, or bear children out of wedlock. It&rsquo;s not the same with political views and private businesses.&nbsp;<strong><em>Only the government cannot discriminate based on political opinion, absent a compelling reason. (We surely wouldn&rsquo;t want a Hamas supporter working in intelligence or national security!)
