Stardew Valley Part 3: Stardew Valley Expanded

If the problems of the Valley so far have been odd political bents against supposed bad guys, then sometimes it's best to take an auteur project into the hands of an editor. All great art needs editors and while the core of Stardew is very strong one of the most pre-eminent mods on the Stardew Nexus: Stardew Valley expanded.

Expanded’s World Map — Image Credit: Stardew Valley Nexus

What does expanded change?

Expanded changes to the game map, adding villagers, and several areas around Pelican Town, and developing existing friendships for certain town members. Two significant changes directly impact the farmer's role in the game which are:

1. You are no longer the only farmer in the valley

This helps with the fixation that the original game had where for some reason an entire plot of land was unused until you moved in. An entire forest of forageable ingredients is now farmed. Marnie has her own farm. Pierre has his own farm. The fertile ground of the valley is no longer eternally sustained by its one economic powerhouse of a main character. The mod doesn’t make these people direct competitors, in keeping with the original spirit, but the farmers also have their own stories to tell.

Website
