The Man Who Defied 20,000 Nazis at Madison Square Garden

The date is February 20, 1939, George Washington’s birthday. The stage is set up in the enclosed arena of Madison Square Garden, New York, for an uncanny gathering announced as an Honor America Rally¹ and a Mass Demonstration for True Americanism.

A rigid guard in makeshift army attire stands menacing. A fierce grimace of religious fervor fills their faces as an ululating mob of 22,000 zealots wearing swastika armbands gives the Nazi salute while yelling words that should forever go unspoken.¹

Words that I refuse to transcribe.
