Celebrating LGBTQ+ Culture and Community in South America

For most of my adult life I’ve adored traveling. My trips have included bus treks across South America, dining at a restaurant inside a cave just outside of Mexico City, and road trips up the Pacific coast among others.

I’ve come face to face with adorable yellow-bellied marmots on a solo excursion to Shoshone Falls; woven through block after deserted block of funky shimmering sculptures next to shores littered with fish carcasses in Bombay Beach; and taken note of all the flowers flaunting themselves in front lawns of Boise, Idaho.

Traveling as a queer person in many places comes with some amount of risk. Same-sex couples do, in general, need to be more vigilant about public displays of affection depending on the location.

Learn More
