The $99 Sony Gaming Headset Showdown
<p>The Sony Pulse 3D Wireless headset launched near the PS5 release a few years ago. In spite of the “Pulse” branding in the name, it doesn’t have the vibration feedback of the much older Sony Pulse headsets. It’s also<strong> not</strong> the only headset that will work with Sony’s new Tempest 3D audio system — any model connected to the console is supported.</p>
<p>So yeah, its name is basically one big pile of “misleading.” But it does offer okay sound, a reasonable price, and a flashy industrial design.</p>
<p>The Inzone series launched quietly last year, and the H3 is the cheapest model at $99. It’s wired, and both the wire and the large boom microphone are permanently attached to the headset. It comes with a small audio processor box that’s also permanently attached to a very long and spindly USB cable. The audio box has a <em>different</em> non-Tempest 3D audio system you can use with your PC and is not all that useful on a console due to all its controls requiring Sony’s Inzone Hub PC software.</p>
