Revisiting the City That Started My Love Affair With Solo Travel
<p>The first piece that I ever wrote for Globetrotters was a memoir about my first solo travel experience. In it, I described the events that led me to travel to a country I’d never been to before on my own. I wish I could say it was something that I did by choice, bravely and without anxiety, but as those of you who read that story know, that was not the case. It was originally supposed to be a trip with friends, and when it turned out that they couldn’t come after all, I almost didn’t go either.</p>
<p>However, in the end, I decided I did actually really want to go, even if it meant going alone, which is something I remain grateful for to this day. Since then, I’ve traveled to about a dozen more countries on my own, and I plan for that number to keep increasing.</p>
