Viewing and Boundaries in Wang Yao-Yi's Solo Exhibition, “The Last Man, the Vietnamese soldier, the Tourist, A-Yuan, the Hunter and the Flâneur”

In the summer of 2023, Taipei Fine Arts Museum presented four solo exhibitions, among which Wang Yao-yi’s(王耀億) video artwork titled “The Last Man, the Vietnamese soldier, the Tourist, A-Yuan, the Hunter and the Flâneur” had a combined duration of approximately two hours. It can be seen as a collection of videos that function as both a film and an exhibition. Beyond the narrative nature of the visuals, the arrangement of the exhibition space and the appropriation of found objects contribute to a deeper layer of transformation. The placement and arrangement of the video works also invite thoughtful contemplation.

Website
