Getting into Law School: NUS and SMU Law Admissions

A little bit about myself, I previously accepted a Double Degree in Business Management and Information Systems at Singapore Management University (SMU), but decided to change my course of study to Law in the year that I was about to matriculate into University (2022). I’m also a guy, so I had three opportunities to apply to University (2020, 2021 and 2022) due to National Service. As Law is undoubtedly a popular course of study in Singapore’s meritocratic society, due to its perceived prestige, good career prospects or simply its high cut-off point, I wanted to share more about my personal experiences in applying for the law schools in Singapore (NUS and SMU). This is for future law applicants, as there wasn’t an abundance of information readily available online. I do have to caveat that some of the information gathered is from my own experience, from Reddit under SGExams, or from hearsay. Hence, I am unable to verify the accuracy of the information. I was fortunate enough to be admitted into both NUS and SMU Law, and eventually decided to accept NUS Law’s offer.
