How I think about white privilege

I’m a white person. That means a bunch of things, including the fact that, because of my skin color, I’m heralded as being better, smarter, more credible than Black people. And it also means that I have a ton of learning to do — both about myself, my complicity and silence, and also about society — as well as a ton of action to do, that will be uncomfortable at first, but hey, it’s a process. For it to get easy it’ll have to be hard first!

And one of the things that keeps evading me is the great encompassing concept of white privilege. In short and to me, it means that because I’m white, whether i like it or not, I’m given things for free that Black people are continually denied. And I want to talk the little I know here.
