Shooting London

Sandwiched between Boleyn Road to the west and the A10 (the section officially known as Kingsland High Street) to the east, one of Hackney’s few remaining working-class neighbourhoods challenges gentrification and new hipster-driven trends. Gillett Square is a thin strip of a piazza, but with its ever-playing reggae soundtrack, Caribbean and African food stalls, and vibrant atmosphere, it feels as if it were twice the size.

I happened to be cycling up Graham Road when I spotted the images both above and below. I normally try not to photograph photos. It feels disrespectful towards the artist(s) who went through so much effort to create long-lasting memories. But it was different this time.
