Why we still make shoes from elephants
<p>Working in technology for 20 years has made me long for learning something a bit more hands-on. So when my wife and I took a year off to travel and reflect after running a company for 7 years I decided to try something different. I wanted to make shoes.</p>
<p>The technique I use is called <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goodyear_welt" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Goodyear welting</a>, named after the son of the man whose name appears on car tyres around the world.</p>
