Seattle vs Prague

As a lifelong non-smoker, I define a country’s smoking success as having less of a smoking culture. Compared to the US, Prague has a huge smoking culture. According to data from the Czech National Cancer Control Programme, about 25% of Czechs smoke, compared to approximately 15% of Americans.

Anecdotally, I’ve noticed much more smoking on the sidewalks, in parks, and in the outdoor sections of restaurants in Prague than in the US. Every time I walk through a smoke cloud in Prague, I long for the US.
