SCOTUS Wars Against the Disabled

<p>Congress enacted statutes prohibiting recipients of federal funds from discriminating on the basis of certain&nbsp;<em>protected characteristics</em>&nbsp;&mdash; one such characteristic<em>&nbsp;</em>is&nbsp;<em>disability</em>. The Supreme Court agreed there is a right to sue in the event of discrimination, but took away the the traditional remedy &mdash; emotional suffering damages! With a little slight-of-hand magic the Supreme Court trimmed down the protection of civil rights and civil liberties of disabled people that will also ultimately extend to&nbsp;<strong>race</strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>sex</strong>&nbsp;<strong>discrimination</strong>&nbsp;cases anywhere a contract is involved.</p> <p><a href="https://medium.com/@judicialethicsinvestigations/scotus-wars-against-the-disabled-37440a0738bf"><strong>Website</strong></a></p>
