My Sacramento Kings Fell Short But I’m Hopeful

<p>I was so excited this time of year just last year. My hometown Sacramento Kings clinched a playoff spot for the first time in almost 17 years. We had gone through 16 years of subpar basketball in that time frame. When I thought about how long that was, I figured out that I went from being a wide-eyed young adult to a middle-aged man. That&rsquo;s how long it had been for a long-time suffering Kings fan.</p> <p>The one year they made the playoffs last season in a generation made me hopeful for the future. This year, we&rsquo;d be getting essentially the same team but playing in a much more competitive Western Conference.
