There was one other reason that I chose Prague: I have been here before (this is why I know it’s cheaper). It meant that I did not have to spend too much time exploring the environment to settle down. After all, I did not come here for vacation. I was here simply because I wanted to have a “stable” life, working on my Ph.D. thing.
Since I wasn’t in vacation mode, I did not passionately revisit all the beautiful tourist sites. But Charles Bridge was an exception. In winter, 2014 when I came to Prague for the first time, I was really obsessed with this medieval bridge. So I almost came here every day and set foot on it. Five and half years later, I was still blown away by this masterpiece. But this time, I did not come here every day. Sometimes, I just watched it from a long distance.
