Retirement Hobbies I’ve Tried So You Don’t Have To

I have written that the two most important things in my life are weather and lunch, and I’ll stick with that. But the third most important thing is hobbies. And I’ve had a lot of them.

Wikipedia defines a hobby as “a regular activity that is done for enjoyment, typically during one’s leisure time. Hobbies include collecting themed items and objects, engaging in creative and artistic pursuits, playing sports, or pursuing other amusements.”

For today, however, I am throwing out the three specific examples that Wikipedia provides: collecting, art, and sports. I won’t be talking about my rock collection, my bad watercolor paintings, my boring photographs, my terrible harmonica playing, or those sketch books I take on every vacation and bring home untouched. I won’t be discussing my bowling scores, my golf game, my cornhole accomplishments, juggling, foosball, pickleball, or the reasons I sold my ping-pong table.
