Rediscovered: Captain James Cook’s Lost Trove of 200 Remarkable Specimens

<p>The invaluable collection of shells, which was found after 40 years, originates from Cook&rsquo;s third and tragic voyage. The expedition lasted several years from 1776 onwards. During the journey, the captain collected intriguing shells aboard his ship. However, the primary objective of this escapade was to find a sea passage from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean.</p> <p>The discovery of the collection was announced by the government organization English Heritage.
