Bridging the Gap — A Call for More Public Recycling Bins

<p>Recycle, reuse, and recycle, often referred to as the 3Rs, have been ingrained into every US citizen&rsquo;s mind since an early age. Especially in today&rsquo;s urgent situation where the problem of climate change has intensified, the significance of the 3Rs is greater than ever.</p> <p>The government, especially the Department of Sanitation, has the responsibility to advocate for a greener lifestyle. One pivotal step is to increase access to public recycling bins around the city. However, living in the vibrant city of New York, I did not see many recycling bins. In my apartment, there is only one waste chute for tenants to throw their garbage.
