I was born and raised in Scotland and still have family there.
<p>Our first stop was Montrose. This is where my mother, sister and her family (husband and her Siberian Huskies!) moved to. It’s on the East coast of Scotland, between Dundee (where I lived all my childhood) and Aberdeen. I actually spent one summer working in Montrose at a factory, staying with a local family.</p>
<p>It has several attractions: a wonderful beach, golf course, and a tennis club where my brother-in-law plays tennis. We have a calendar of scenes from Montrose and one entitled “rush hour” really cracks us up because there’s one guy on a bicycle and a few parked cars!</p>
<p>Although we arrived for our visit in late July, the weather was typically Scottish — means not much like summer!</p>
